it seems the general thought from the drag racing industry has been that while methanol may loose out to a hydrocarbon fuel in the top end, methanol always produced more torque - NOT TRUE!
In this dyno test on a 420ci small block chev, static comp of 16.5:1, ETS 'P14' beat methanol everywhere!

P14 VS. LEADING COMPETITORS FUEL
The 115 RON leaded drag racing fuel - P14 was tested here on a Big Block 632 Chev, with a compression ratio of 16.5:1, this fuel showed good gains against a market leading competitors fuel.
With higher Combustion Speed & Higher Energy, this fuel is already showing improved consistency and speed on the drag strip.
